Auxiliary

The Bentley Health Service (BHS) Auxiliary group provide a range of services to patients and their families to make their stay more comfortable. BHS currently have 66 volunteers who dedicate their time to raise funds for the hospital.

Voluntary services that operate at BHS include:

  • Operation of the hospital kiosks
  • voluntary transport drivers
  • tea ladies

Becoming a volunteer at BHS offers an opportunity to interact and assist fellow members of the community while they are visiting the hospital. Being a volunteer is very flexible, with flexible voluntary options available to suit your personal requirements.

All funds raised by the Auxiliary go toward purchasing new equipment for the hospital.

History of the BHS Auxiliary

The BHS Auxiliary first started fundraising in 1967 after the opening of the new Bentley Hospital. Volunteers met at the local hall to establish an Auxiliary, with the aim of improving the patient experience while at Bentley. Some of the first items purchased by the Auxiliary were gifts for the first baby born at BHS, two weeks after it opened.
