Speech pathology

Speech Pathology provides services to individuals aged 16 years and older who present with acquired communication and/or swallowing disorders.

Typical presentations to Speech Pathology are individuals with speech, language and/or swallowing disorders following a stroke, or as a result of progressive neurological diseases (Parkinson's disease, dementia or motor neurone disease).

The department also sees patients with voice disorders secondary to vocal strain.

A specialist diagnostic radiology service is also provided to patients with swallowing disorders. This service is run collaboratively with the Perth Radiology Clinic (PRC), located at Bentley Health Service.
